The laboratory staff is ready to guide and answer your questions at all stages.
It is advisable for you to be present in the laboratory for fasting tests in the morning. (Except as prescribed by your treating physician or laboratory)
You should not eat during the 10-12 hours before the test. The night before the test, a light meal (such as bread and cheese) is allowed. Any heavy and high-calorie meal has a negative effect on the results of the tests.
You should not drink tea, coffee or water during the 10-12 hours before the test. Drinking water is OK. (Unless otherwise noted by your physician)
You should not chew gum for 10-12 hours before the test and use different chocolates, minarets, mint syrups or throat softening tablets.
You are allowed to brush your teeth for 10-12 hours before the test.
You should take medications that your physician has not authorized to discontinue for 10-12 hours before the test. (Take medicine as prescribed by your doctor.)
You should not smoke during the 10-12 hours before the test.
You should not do intense physical activity, exercise or exercise during the 10-12 hours before the test. These can cause changes in the results of tests, due to the stimulation of the digestive system.
Blood lipids and triglycerides (one of the blood lipids) require at least 12 hours of fasting.
Eight hours of fasting blood is sufficient for a blood urea nitrogen test. In addition, the patient should refrain from consuming foods high in meat for at least 2-3 days prior to testing.
Although thyroid hormone testing does not need to be restricted by food and fluid intake, do not eat at least 3 hours before a food test because of the effect of elevated blood lipids on thyroid test results. If you are taking medicines, be sure to talk to your doctor if they are discontinued or continue to use them, and inform the lab if you are taking medication.
Helicobacter pylori antibody screening test, one of the most important causes of gastritis and ulcers, does not require special preparation, but it is advisable that the patient does not eat fatty foods the night before because high blood lipids can compromise the results.
Important Note: Please pay special attention to the above points for accurate and accurate results, which can lead to important medical issues being ignored due to non-compliance.
